So, since graduation I've been lucky enough to get to travel about a bit with all my work.
First, my graduating class and I visited London to exhibit at New Designers. We raised the funds for travel and exhibiting ourselves during our last year at university. There were 26 of us altogether.
During my stay in London, I went for an interview with Texprint-a UK non-profit making registered charity, whose aim is to link newly graduated textile designers with industry. You can see their website here: http://www.texprint.org.uk/index.htm
I was interviewed along with over 200 other applicants, and by some miracle I managed to earn a place on their programme. The 24 Texprint designers are first invited to exhibit at the Chelsea College of Art for First View. This is an opportunity for supporters and sponsors of Texprint to meet the designers and see their work. Six of the designers are also awarded prizes for outstanding merit in their fields.
After First View in July, the second part of the programme is to exhibit at Indigo at Premier Vision in Paris. This was an amazing experience.

I made some brilliant contacts and also met some really lovely people, especially on the Friday which was mainly a day for student visitors. I feel incredibly lucky to have been given this opportunity and know that it will have a great influence on my future in textiles.
